Conflict-of-Interest Policy

This policy explains how the Center manages conflicts of interest among its governing bodies and reviewers.

Last updated: January 2026

Purpose

This policy governs how the Center identifies, discloses and manages financial and organizational conflicts of interest among its governing bodies, reviewers and committee members.

Disclosure Requirements

Individuals participating in standards development, certification decisions, accreditation review or disciplinary matters must disclose relevant financial relationships, affiliations and business interests that could reasonably affect their objectivity.

Review Process

Disclosed conflicts are reviewed by the relevant council or committee to determine whether recusal or additional oversight is required for a specific matter.

Recusal

An individual with a documented conflict of interest in a specific application, examination or disciplinary matter must recuse themselves from participating in that decision.

Proposed Disclosure Policy vs. Disclosed Relationships

This page describes the Center's proposed approach to identifying and managing conflicts of interest. It is a policy under development, not a record of relationships that have already been disclosed. No council, committee or reviewer appointments have been confirmed, and no financial disclosures currently exist to publish. The absence of a published disclosure should not be read as evidence that no conflicts exist; it reflects that formal appointments and disclosure collection have not yet begun.

Ownership and Funding

A detailed organizational and funding disclosure for the Center for Peptide Education and Literacy is being prepared and will be published here once confirmed. Further detail on how the Center is developing its editorial and disclosure practices is available on our Transparency and Editorial Practices page.
